Teamsters

posted by Todd

We kicked off the newest teamster training class at Wagner Farm last night. I realize most people associate the word "teamster" with something quite different however, in history it was originally a description of someone who drove oxen or horses off the farm. For our purposes we will be staying on the farm and sticking to the horses not the Mack trucks. To be officially qualified to drive our team a person has to go through an extensive training process. Two classroom lectures, written tests, hours of one on one training sessions and the dreaded driving test. This time we have 14 folks going through the class. As someone who loves driving draft horses, teaching the course is like a little vacation each session.
